25 things about me….

  1. I am an only child.at my grandparents in Kingston, New York - 1974
  2. I grew up in the 1970′s and 1980′s on a dead end street in a small town in Upstate New York.
  3. I went skiing every weekend in the Catskills (Bellarye and Ski Windham).
  4. I went camping with my parents every summer on the islands of Lake George, NY and in North Truro on Cape Cod, MA.
  5. I went to Girl Scout Camp (Camp Little Notch).
  6. I had a fish named Irving, a hamster named Sunbeam and two Gerbils (Rain and Bow).
  7. I had a yellow bike with a banana seat.
  8. My mom was a room parent, my parents came to every match, game, concert and play I was ever in.
  9. My dad taught me to drive a VW Rabbit. With a stick shift and a manual choke.
  10. I played the flute and sang off key.
  11. I was Lady Thiang in the Middle School production of the King and I.
  12. I was on the tennis team, the track team and I tried to play softball, once.Maple Hill High School Senior prom 1988
  13. I was in Math League and the National Honor Society.
  14. I spent a month in Germany as an exchange student. (And I still don’t speak any German).
  15. I waited tables at Howard Johnson’s and TGI Friday’s. (Flair is VERY important in life!)
  16. I started college at Boston University. I pledged Tri Delta.
  17. I changed my major 7 times, I changed colleges 3 times, and spent 7 years as an undergrad. and I graduated with a BA in Mathematics from Siena College, and I haven’t even begun to pay back the $85,000 in student loans.
  18. I got a perfect score on the Logic portion of the GRE’s.
  19. I’ve lived in Boston, MA, Albany, NY, Carrabassett Valley, ME, Vail, CO and various parts of Denver, CO.me and kuma snowshoeing in East Vail
  20. I’ve owned 4 cars (one VW GTI, 2 Subaru wagons and 1 Nissan SUV, all with over 150,000 miles) and I learned how to change my own oil and change a flat tire.
  21. I’ve worked as a  nanny, a raft guide, a snowboard instructor, an alpine race coach, a high school math and science teacher, a medical assistant, a database administrator, a copy girl and started my own business.
  22. I was Kuma’s mom for over 12 years, I cleaned wounds and infected ears, knowing every lump and bump he had saved his life, I held him tight and cried when life really sucked, I bought special food and cooked for him, I gave insulin injections and tested his glucose levels, I carried him up and down the stairs, and then I held him tight as I said goodbye.
  23. I can fix a leaky toilet, install a light fixture and repair drywall. I hope to have the opportunity to buy a house to fix upme at Havasu in the Grand Canyon
  24. I don’t know my right from my left, I have a great sense of direction, but I get lost in parking lots.
  25. I spent 18 days on rafting the Grand Canyon, a intense, amazing experience.

I’ve made a lot of mistakes. There are decisions and actions that I am very proud of, and there are some that I would prefer to forget. I’ve had experiences I wouldn’t change for the world, even though they led me to some of the worst points in my life. I have met incredible people in some of the least expected places, and have been hurt by people whom I thought I could count on.
